General Rule
Sporting Schools funding must be used to deliver approved Sporting Schools partner sport programs during the funded school term.
Expenses must directly support delivery of a Sporting Schools program and comply with Sporting Schools grant requirements.
Eligible Expenses
The following expenses are generally supported.
Program Delivery
- Payments to partner sports
- Payments to approved providers
- Payments to coaches delivering Sporting Schools programs
- Teacher-delivered Sporting Schools programs
Equipment
Essential equipment required to deliver an introductory partner sport program.
Examples:
- Balls
- Cones
- Goal markers
- Sport-specific training equipment
Conditions:
- Must be required for program delivery
- Equipment spending is capped at $1,650 GST inclusive per grant
Facilities and Travel
- Venue hire outside school grounds
- Travel required to attend a Sporting Schools program location
Teacher Support
- Teacher coaching outside normal paid work hours
- Before-school or after-school coaching or supervision
- Teacher professional development related to approved Sporting Schools delivery
- Relief teacher costs for approved ASC PE Essential Skills training (up to four hours)
Administration
- Administration expenses up to $200 GST inclusive without evidence
Other Supported Costs
- Sporting Schools book packs for primary schools (up to $550 GST inclusive)
- Athlete or motivational speaker visits from Sporting Schools partner sports, Olympic sports or Paralympic sports (up to $1,100 GST inclusive)

- Wellbeing programs
- Fundamental movement programs
- Multi-sport programs
Unless approved as a Sporting Schools partner sport.
Timing Rules
Expenses are not eligible if they:
- Occurred before grant approval
- Occurred outside the funded school term
- Relate to a future term
- Relate to a previous term
